We are in a construction process and our IT closets are to have plywood installed on all the walls. The electricians have already installed outlet boxes in the wall even with the sheetrock. This leaves a 3/4 inch plywood outlet hole in front of where the outlets will be installed. Is this a violation of 314.20? I didn't know if the plywood is considered a "wall" or not and if it was should we make them move the boxes so the front of the box is even with the front of the plywood?

I agree with Gus. We do this all the time. Have the electrician come back and install the rings.

BTW, I corrected the article numbers in your post
