32 volt dc fuse on 120 ac

32 volt 20 amp dc fuse installed in 120 volt ac circuit ? WILL IT WORK.
 
Yeah, but when it blows, you stand the chance of the fuse going to pieces.

This seems to "happen" in factory maintenance situations pretty frequently with those little glass fuses. They look at the amp rating only, and not the voltage rating.

Further, they don't clear "quickly", and lots of energy is transferred to the load after it should have been fully open before the arc quenches. As Marc said, the fuse often absorbs some of it, too ...

I think it is more of a case of not having the magnifying glass handy. If you can still see those markings, you are younger than I thought.:grin: :D
