320 meter socket

Hello everyone, I have a question on sizing the sevice entrance conductors for a 320 meter socket. This is a residential situation with a sevice drop to a pole, then back up the pole to the house feeding a 200A panel. The other is a 100amp to a pole barn under ground feeder. I have two questions, first can you size this service as at 300A and use table 310.15(b)(6) to size the wire to go from weather head to the 320 meter socket. Secondly is it possible to use the same conduit to go back up and feed the house as the meter. Thank you for any input.

310.15 (B)6 is for individual dwelling units. The addition of the barn would preclude using this Code section.
I was going to answer "no" to the conduit question, based on 230.7, but as you have not mentioned any overcurrent devices at this point, both sets of wiring would be "serice conductors". I would be willing to bet that POCO would not allow the mix of metered and non-metered conductors.

Augie, if he were to come out of that meter and feed the house than I dont see the problem with using table 310.15(B)(6) other than that SEC must be installed in a raceway or cable, the barn SEC cannot be sized under 310.15(B)(6)

which service :)

which service :)

agree about the "house" service. I should have been more explicit. My thinking, when the OP stated "this service" it was was the service to the meter.
As it serves both the house and the barn, I don't believe you could use 310.15(B)(6).
For the service conductors to the dwelling unit itslef, I agree, no problem.

320 meter

320 meter

Sounds as though the SEC needs to be sized to 310.16, can that be sized as a 300A service? Sounds like 300 kciml to meter and up a new conduit to a new weather head to house. The pole barn is more like a large utility shead used for storage. it is about 40x60, and about 90 feet away (not worried about VD). Sounds like USE #3 for pole barn (310.16) 75c

He still only has 1 service at the house, so I dont see why he cant use 310.15(B)(6), I also feel he can run whatever size wire the load requires to the barn... 230.40 exception No. 3 will allow two sets of SEC's.

I'm only assuming the OP is trying to come out of the meter twice, one set of SEC's for each building.
