Hey all,
Thanks for any help. Im trying to size the conductors 320A single phase 120/240 service on a large single family dwellling. I recall from the '02 code a section that stated the allowable ampacities for service conductors; which allowed highter ampacities than what tables 310 show. For example, a #4 THHN would normally carry an ampacity of 89, but under this exception for services an ampacity of 100 was allowed.

Is this rule still in effect; and where can it be found in the '05 NEC?

Thanks!!!
