Statement of Problem and Substantiation
As outlined in 320.30 type AC cable is not required to be secured when installed in horizontal runs through framing members.
Ie: (C) Supporting. Unless otherwise provided, Type AC cable shall be supported at intervals not exceeding 1.4 m (4? ft).
Horizontal runs of Type AC cable installed in wooden or metal framing members or similar supporting means shall be considered supported where such support does not exceed 1.4-m (4?-ft) intervals.

Re: 330.30(C)

320.30 (C) Horizontal runs of Type AC cable installed in wooden or metal framing members or similar supporting means shall be considered supported where such support does not exceed 1.4-m (4?-ft) intervals.

330.30 (C) Horizontal runs of Type MC cable installed in wooden or metal framing members or similar supporting means shall be considered supported and SECURED where such support does not exceed 1.8-m (6-ft) intervals.

Comparing the two sections we see the word secured in 330 that is missing in 320. A cable that is lying in a bored hole is not secured only supported.
