Doing some reading. Supports for conduit in changes to nec 2011.
It mentions although it was generally accepted that it was allowed no support on raceways less than 36".
Then inspectors wanted supports So a proposal was made in 2008 to allow non flexible raceway to be installed with no support if less than 36 ".
Then the code making body changed it to support any length if raceway that's coupled or terminates in a ringed knock out. It also changed it to 18 ".

Then it says the 2011 removed it altogether.
Resulting in language that matches 2005.

So I can't tell on lengths if conduit three foot or less. Is support needed.

Gotta say too. Getting blown away from what I've been reading that I was supposed to know. Rigid and imc twenty feet between supports. PVC 1/2 and 3/4 inch three feet. Wow.

IMHO... yes. Since the .30C section is gone... so is the allowance of not supporting the raceways.
