347V multi tap ballasts

Just an observation. Today I was assembling some parking lot heads and the Advanced ballast in the fixture had 3 taps.

120V, 277V, and 347V.

Really nice fixtures but the first time I was faced with those 3 choices.

600 volt / 1.73 = 346.82.

That scary part is that I have your voice in my head singing this. :D

Those crazy Canadians and their 600 volt systems. I kinda wish we had them here. :cool:

anyway let get back to the topic for now.

The reason why the CEC { Canada Electrical Code } did not allow new luminaries to be line to line format anymore due the issue with shell grounding { that part I will have to get ahold of Canadian electrician to confirmed the code number on this one }

The Canada verison do not allowed 208-240v with common ballast unless it is a CWI verison.
