Hello forum members. I have a machine that's made in Australia and its voltage requirements are 360-400 volt 3 phase and 20 hp 50-60 hz. The building service is 208 volt 3 phase. Is there any configuration of standard available transformers that will provide this voltage. I don't have a lot of experience with transformers aside from standard step down for sub panels and services. I asked the machine manufacture if they would provide a transformer with a 208 volt 3 phase pri with no luck. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated. Steve.

We haven't contacted anyone for a transformer yet. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't any options other than A special transformer. I will check out the recommended company's thanks again steve.

Never mind

My understanding is that _if you can wait for the long lead time_, a custom transformer costs only slightly more than a standard transformer.

If the machine supplier has specifically said 360-400V, I would ask them the following: is 360-400V the allowable supply voltage range (essentially 380V +-20V) or is this the range of 'nominal' supply voltage, each with normal tolerance. (In other words, could you connect this to a 360V system, where that 360V will have perhaps a +-5% tolerance)

I have used (and like) transformers from Fargo Electric in Buffalo. They have both primary and secondary taps for voltage adjustment, which might mean that the voltage that you need is off the shelf.
