If supplying a load with a neutral, does the neutral just simply pass through a 3P fused disconnect switch or is a neutral buss required?

There is no requirement to terminate the grounded neutral in a disconnect, unless you are using the unit as your neutral-to-ground bond. In terms of wire pulling logistics, you might want to terminate it on an isolated busbar or insulated splice, but if you want to pull a continuous neutral, no NEC rule prevents you from doing so.

In a service disconnect 230.75 requires a neutral bar.
250.24 (C) requires a neutral bar in a service disconnect.
I'm not sure if a feeder disconnect is required to have a neutral bar.
Cant find anything on that.

Although not required, please install and terminate the neutral on a neutral bar in the disconnect for those of us who may come along behind and would like to be able to check the voltage properly if need be. :)
