Hi Folks... I am New to the forum...
Anyway,
I own an old Mill built in1949. We have a 240 open delta with High leg. I need to do an upgrade on my panels, as there is a bunch of deteriorated cloth covered wire and fuses... not to mention poor or no grounding.

Here is what I have:

400 amp 240 open delta with high leg.
(2) transformers on pole
(3) conductors entering building.
(22) 3 phase motors and soon to be more
(6) 120 volt single phase Circuits lighting and a few service outlets.
All conduit grounded
1 ground rod connected to the incoming service entrance rigid.
240 single phase is provided by a 3 kva transformer connected to a and c phase
Currently no neutral in 3 phase fuse panels

What I Need to do:

upgrade from the service disconnect down stream.
Install 240 3 phase panels (2)
install a 240/120 single phase panel

Questions:

Why the need for the 240 1P transformer? 3 of my buildings (services) have it and 1 does not
what do i need to do to upgrade my grounding?
Should I ground a corner of an open delta System? I'm thinking not...

Please any suggestions Welcome...

IMO you need to get a licensed electrician to look over everything you have including any future loads to figure out exactly what you need!

Some of your data indicates a need for a professional electrician to take a look at the actual situation.
Advice we give would be of little help.
