OK, here’s what I have, I’m running4/0-4/0-2/0-4 USE-2/RHH/RHW-2 Aluminum from the meter, which is in front of the house, in 3 inch pipe under the house which stubs up into the attached garage on a sheer wall.
Can I cut the pipe short and run the wires directly into the panel without using the PVC as the connection point? Pictures attached for reference, longtime fan, newer member and first time post much appreciated.

Dennis, that cable has to be in conduit (unless it's direct buried) all the way, and connected, to the enclosure. I would either not use the EGC, or take it out of the cable. There is no place to terminate it in the meter.
 
Then the 4 wire would be correct from the disconnect to the panel but individual conductors would need to be in a raceway or direct buried if so listed.

A 3" PVC conduit is overkill for that cable, 2" would be ample. If you already ran the 3", you could use a reducer at the panel, or under the house, as it most likely doesn't have a 3" KO.

Yes, the homeowner pre-ran everything in 3 inch pipe. I love the idea of the reducer because unfortunately he doesn’t want any wires in the wall, he wants it surface mount because it’s a sheer wall so I’m probably gonna do an offset into the bottom of the panel. Thank you for the response.
