Why does the typical 4/0 ser cable consist of 4/0 phase conductors, 4/0 neutral and a 2/0 equipment ground. This is usually used on the load side of a 200 amp breaker, so why the larger equipment ground
Doesn't the equipment ground only need to be #4 when protected by a 200 amp breaker
Its for paralleling purposes.
Cable is being used from a 200 amp disconnect to a 200 amp load center. Quick check today doesn't list a 4/0 4/0 4/0 4 ser. Just curious as to why not.
