4/0 Wire Installation

Upgrading a 120/208V 3 Phase Panel from 100Amp to 200Amp. Existing wire is #3THW. New wire is 4/0(Copper). Going 125', does $5000.00 sound right? I was told that I was a very high price when I went in with my bid. Oh and add a 3 phase 200 Amp QO Panel and $800.00 in breakers direct from the Supply House.

The panel has heavy motor loads even though Voltage Drop calculations will allow for 3/0, I like to go a little higher due to the loads(not to mention there is lighting on the load and the lights hum when you turn the motors on now). And it's only 2" EMT, 250MCM Aluminum won't work.

You are looking at $3000 in parts wire etc. Sounds like you almost have yourself talked out of this. If they are a good customer I would do the job and then job cost to see if I should have been picking up cans. Don't be Buffaloed. Your wage is not your profit. You derserve mark up and profit on top of an hourly wage.
