I know NEC says minimum of #6 is all that is needed for grounding to metallic water pipe; however, just want to be sure. #4 copper AWG is acceptable as well, correct?

I thought it was dependant on the size of the service conductors, not the rating of the service.Welcome to the forum.
No, #6 cu is the maximum size required for made electrodes (rods, driven pipes, plates, etc.)
The minimum size required for water-piping depends on the service size; it's #4 cu for 200a.
I sort of equated the two. I'm sure you're correct.I thought it was dependant on the size of the service conductors, not the rating of the service.
Actually the minimum size is #8. You can use any larger size conductor if you wish.I know NEC says minimum of #6 is all that is needed for grounding to metallic water pipe; however, just want to be sure. #4 copper AWG is acceptable as well, correct?
