Will #4 Stranded bare wire pass inspection for grounding a main panel? Most places seem to be out of solid wire right now.
Thanks Curt!No NEC requirement for solid. I never use #4 solid, only 7-strand bare or THHN. Solid is a PITA to work with.
FYI. I just checked some of my supply houses and they have a good stock of 4 solid. Not sure why yours don't have it.
I was at HD last week and not one store within 50 miles had any in stock. There seemed to be a shortage, it may just be a HD supplier deal.Home Depot stores seem to have it in stock in 50' rolls and 200' spools.
Is it much cheaper than insulated stranded wire? We never use solid or bare conductors for GEC's.What are your thoughts on #4 Stranded bare?
Thats about all I use. #4 solid doesnt sound like a super happy fun time. What are your thoughts on #4 Stranded bare?
