4" Square box low voltage partitions

Can I use the Raco low voltage partition with a flat mud ring? Looking at their catalog, it says it's only compatible with the raised rings. But it looks like the flat type has a slot in the middle for it?

You're right, it says only with raised covers, and you're right, the flat cover has the slots, at least in the picture.

Why not buy a box, a flat plate, and a partition, and try it for yourself. I'd use their box, too, just to be "compliant."

The partition will protrude beyond the flat mud ring, interfering with any cover plate you might wish to cover the work with.......
