When supporting a regular 4 square box does the support have to be listed for that specific intent? I have a sharp 90 degree bend coming out of a wall which feeds a receptacle in that wall. Because I can't cut the 90 the box is now and 1" off of the drywall. Can I run (1) 2" Drywall screw through an open space in the back of the box to a stud in the drywall.

Also, can the open holes located at the front of the 4-square box be utilized in supporting the box?

Please let me know.

Thanks

There is no NEC requirement that the supporting member for a 4 square box be listed for the purpose.

Also the holes on the side of a standard 4 square box can be used for supporting the box.
