I have a client that has two, 3 way wave switches and a 4 way snap switch in between. She wants a dimmer in place of the snap switch but as far as I know, a 4 way dimmer doesn't exist. Does anyone know of a solution?

A set of remote switching/dimming in-wall replacement units of some type.

I'm from the old X-10 days, but others here are familiar with modern makes.

A 3-way dimmer has the dimming circuitry on the common side of the switch.

A 4-way switch has no single wire to insert a dimmer into the current pathway.

I don't believe Lutron Wave Switches are compatible with the aforementioned solutions.
Lutron used to be very good about tech support. You call them up and they will tell you what you need. I know they have a few things that will work. The maestro's will work with companion switches. I think you can have up to 10 companion switches.

Lutron, Masetro or Sunnata Pro will provide dimming control at all locations. The Sunnata Pro does require a neutral at the main dimmer location. The Masetro doesn't.

I don't see a reason to use wireless in this situation since you have wires to use. The Lutron wireless dimmers paired with Pico's is a great option when wiring doesn't exist.
