I am swapping out a 200 amp main panel. I noticed the PV system is backfeeding a 40 amp double pole breaker. The disconnect outside has a sticker that states "2.8 amps."

Is the 40 amp breaker sized for this or was an available breaker just used?

2.8A? Seriously? That's like two microinverters, max. Maybe it's 28A?

But anyway, as long as the conductors are sized appropriately and the OCPD does not exceed any published maximum for the inverter, then it is not a problem.
