500mcm in 2 1/2"? You must be a glutton for punishment.

Good luck.

This is for a house right? Why would you not reduce the neutral?

You only need a number 6 to a ground rod. Generally we come from the meter base and do a continuous loop from one rod to the other, however you can do what you stated but you only need #6 asnd then you would need a bonding jumper between the rods. The rods must be tied together, imo

I agree. Good luck with that. The last 400A UG service I did I stubbed out (2) 4" pvc'S from an interior CT cabinet with wide sweep 90's and the POCO came in and completed both conduits to their xfmr. (1 conduit was a spare). I believe they used 350 KCM's but I could be wrong. Sounds like in your area the POCO makes you run all the UG wiring and conduits.

I bet your competitors running parallel 4/0 aluminum conductors get the bid nearly every time.

BTW if you have multiple service disconnecting means, your common supply conductor only needs a minimum ampacity of whatever the service load calculation is.

i don't know who your utility is on that side of the state but in steeler country we are required a min of 3 in conduit by the utiltiy and a pull robe, the utility supplies the lateral to the meter enclosure. 3 in conduit 36 in sweeps 36 in deep.

also you did not mention rebar in the footer that may be your building dept. not requiring rebar

you did not mention a grounding electrode conductor to the water pipe i know they are most likely using pex inside but is it copper on the utility side?
