This is the bottom half of a 277/480VAC service disconnect with 400amp fuses. I was looking at this to see what size fuses were installed and this is what I saw.
Aside from all the tobacco dust, they crammed 3 wires under each phase load lug rated for only 2 conductors.
Any opinions out there about the load ground connection on the right side of the cabinet?
The lower picture zooms in on the load grounds.

I assume this was dead when you took the picture and you have declined working around this place? This is obviously a Class II, Div 1 location and the whole area needs to be rewired. If you haven't already, run and don't look back. :D

Re: 400amp service fused disconnect

Charlie,
The picture of this switch shows the results of a NEMA-1 enclosure in a NEMA-12 environment after 10 years.
All other enlosures in this area are NEMA-12 and look brand new inside (zero dust), why this one is NEMA-1 is a question and it should be replaced.
