Please help me. Switches shall clearly indicate wheather they are in the open (off) or closed (on) position, and the the up position of handle shall be the (on) position if mounted vertically. I have never seen a decora type switch with on, off markings. Can I legally mount this type off switch horizontally? And what about the double decora switches in one yoke they are all horizontal? :-?

I believe 404.7 is talking about general use switches, motor cir. sw. etc. not snap switches. A decora device is a snap switch.

Wow don't I feel dumb. I guess I need to review the difference between general-use and general-use snap switches.
