I have 2 pieces of equipment that I would like to use a cord end and recep as a disconnect. One is a welder and the other is an air compressor. The welder is 3 phase, 480 volt, 27 amp, and calls for 40 amp fuses with #10 wire. Is it ok to use a 30A rating cord setup since it only pulls 27 amps? Or do I need to use a setup that is rated for 40 amps or more? It is pretty much the same specs on the air compressor 3 phase, 480 volt, 27 amps, 40 amp fuses, but calls for #8 wire.
