I have need to switch between two machine circuits with a 240VAC, 40 amp, 2-pole double-throw switch (with center off) but am having a hard time finding one. My local supply doesn't carry double-throw and my Internet search has not been productive. Any help is appreciated.

Not being sure what it is you are trying to do but a couple thoughts come to mind.

1) A transfer switch
2) A selector switch and a couple contactors
3) No reason you could not use a three pole switch if that is available in the configuration you need. Just don't use the extra pole.

A bit more information on your application would help.

Square D class 3140 double throw switch is available in 30A,60A,100A fusible and non-fusible if this is what you need.

You do not need to search web for something like this. For most 600V. & below equipment, you need your own Square D Digest.

Re: 40Amp 2-Pole, Double Throw Switch?

Be careful: Some of the Square D switches cannot be operated under load (at least some of the 480V ones). And if you are counting on someone shutting off the machines before operating the switch, I don't think it will be long before someone accidently throws the switch under load.
