I have read in the code NEC 315.44 ex.2 that you don't need to use shielded cables for a 4160v motor connection if quailed persons are installing and service it. I don't understand the connections for this application and what terminations I would use. Would I still need and mv-90/105 term kit or can I use a different connection set up.

The reason for this rule is because shielded cable terminations will rarely fit in the motor junction box.

I would probably use compression lugs and bolts, semiconductor rubber tape to smooth out all of the sharp or pointed parts of the connection, then 130C followed by 33+.
