430-102 disconnect for controller

I am designing in an industrial facility. I have a MCC room where the VFD is mounted in the same room however is not in line of sight from the C.B.(lockable type) that feeds it. Do I need to install a disconnect next to the VFD? Or does 430-102(b) apply?

The motor is what needs the disconnect, not the VFD.

430.102 Location.
(A) Controller. An individual disconnecting means shall be provided for each controller and shall disconnect the controller. The disconnecting means shall be located in sight from the controller location.

The way I see it if the VFD is the controller it must comply with 430.102(A).

There are two exceptions but there is not enough information to address either.

Most VFD's that I have installed had a disconect built in,this will serve as disconnect required.
