I've looked everywhere and I can't get a straight answer on this one. Can my conductors feeding an elevator really be less than my over current protection for it? 430.22(E) leads me to believe they could.
Basically yes, but you should look at Art 620 if you have not done so.. Most of the motor references are back to Art 430 but it is specialized equipment covered by Art 620.
