Trying to figure overcurrent protection for branch circuit to a motor. If I have typical bolt on breaker which column do I use inverse breaker,instantaneous time breaker or other?

Inverse time breaker.

I don't think you will find instantaneous trip type breakers in a style that mounts in a panelboard, they will all be inverse time.
You may find inst. trip in motor control centers or combination starters, or industrial control panels.
