Inspector made a call on my fan powered hepa filters in a clean room (qty 8) being on a 20 amp 277 volt circuit. The inspector referenced 430.53 which states 120 volt 20 amp circuit is ok but 1000 volt and less needs to be on a 15 amp circuit. Can someone explain why that would be . Each filter contains a 1/5 hp motor with 1.1 running amps and 1.5 starting amps. Thanks

Below is my understanding of 430.53

430.53(A) says at 121V - 1000V protection cannot exceed 15A, in addition you have to comply with (A)(1) (A)(2) (A)(3).
What size of MOP is shown on label of the fan? MOP related to the compliance with (A)(2).

I did not see MOP on the label I will call the manufacture see if I can get that info. I just confused when I can install one hepa on a 20 amp circuit but I have to change to 15 amps for 2 hepa filter fans . Thanks for the reply
