Can someone show with math calculations that a 45 kva 3 phase 480 delta to 120/208 Y transformer can be used to feed a 225 amp 3 phase lighting panel feeding only single phase loads.

It could be used to feed a 225 amp panel assuming there was other overcurrent protection but it is only capable of supplying 125 amps of current.

45 KVA x 1000 = 45,000

45,000 / 208 = 216 (approx.)

216 / 1.73 = 125 amps. (approx.)

I agree with Bob. Keep in mind that the load on any transformer is not established by the rating of the panel that it feeds. Rather, the transformer load is established by the equipment that you connect to that panel.
