Customer has three phase service equipment on hand with 600 volt rated, seven terminal feed through meter socket and a fusible 200 amp, 600 volt rated fusible disconnect. Requirement is for 200 amp, single phase 480/240 volts and he wants to use that equipment for the service connect to the POCO. I am not aware of a rule that would prohibit this since the single phase POCO meter will fit the four jaws serving the A&C phases in the seven terminal socket. My recommendation was to have center phase conductor removed all the way through and do not add a fuse to the center phase fuse holder.
If the three phase equipment was not readily available he would build a single phase service at a lower material cost.
Is there a code rule that would not allow this? POCO sees this as out of the norm.

dontcha just love customers who want you to use their crap they have just laying around?:happyno:

you get to spend countless hours trying to figure out if it will work and as your reward, not only do you not get paid for that time, but you don't make any money marking up the equipment you should be supplying.

i always tell people i only guarantee (warranty) equipment that I supply. all their crap gets NO GUARANTEE, PERIOD.
