I am trying to light a flagpole in a cemetery for a veterans memorial. Unfortunately there is a streetlight nearby which drowned out the light from a solar lighting system I set up a couple years ago on the flagpole itself, so I took the solar lighting system down. I do have an invitation to run an electrical line from a electric utility pedestal about 250 feet away to a 600W LED spotlight I could purchase for installation at the base of the flagpole. However, the costs for this would be several thousand dollars, as well as recurrent metering costs. Alternatively, I could tap off the streetlight, but the city doesn't want to do it for a 110V tap. I had thought about a spotlight from the streetlight, but all I can find is a 240V 3 phase spotlight. I am told that the streetlight is 480V 3 phase. Anyone know of not-too-expensive spotlight that is 480V 3 phase? Or alternatively some other means of lighting? Large solar panels would not be an option for aesthetic and security reasons. My hope is to just pay for an city-approved spotlight from the streetlight and let the city take it from there. Thanks for ideas!
