I was told that when you have a 480v wye system
you can't use orange as b phase color in ct cabinet ,You have to use a diff color so that utility company knows not to give you a delta high leg

. Also isn't the delta high leg system 120 /240 and on the b phase you'll get like 208 to ground
or can you get a highleg system in 480/277 v as well

if any one has the time can someone write down all the diff electrical systems wye and delta so I can write th?m down . Thanks for your time

That could be a local power company rule but it is not an NEC rule.

I have never heard of a power company waiting till they look at the color of the conductors to decide what service will be provided. That should have been determined long before then.

We use brown, orange, yellow in metering enclosures.

Ya it didn't make sense to me I thought what system you get is all ready known,
We work out of north Jersy

I seem to remember years ago that Rockland Electric used PURPLE as one of the phase colors to identify the system.

can't use orange here on a 480/277 but that's a local rule, not NEC.
