480V Disconnects in a wet Location (Safety)

During an installation of disconnects for process equipment a sink basin was installed less than 4inches from one of the disconnects and the water line in which runs overhead with a bottm drain. Each of the disconnects contain dual voltages for feed and controls, the disconnect is rated for wet locations.
My interest is involving code for installation because PM's have to be done in all disconnects which means that the voltages are accessible and would this violate the initial installation? Just need to confirm before I present this to our safety sub-group

I don't really get your question. The disconnect is enclosed and wet rated. How its voltage is accessible? The only thing may related to NEC code is the overhead water line above the disconnect.

His point is that during pm's (preventative maintenance), the disconnect would be open and live with water in close proximity. In my opinion, plaster a large notice on the door, "water line must be locked out and drained before performing preventative maintenance on this switch".

Wet location doesn't mean anything at all if the switch is open and being worked on at the time, say, you get overspray from the close sink.

You got it, my concern is that the sink is right next to the disconnects and at anytime during a PM it is possible to come in contact with water.

I probably should have been a bit more in detail about my question and I do apoligize but my way is not always the right way and the more information I can obtain the better I can handle this situation.

I was only thinking that there was a code that would supersede the installation due to the nature.

As long as the working clearances in 110.26 are not infringed upon, then the installation sounds compliant with the NEC.

Is the water going to be running while the personnel is examining the equipment? I'm not really seeing the danger here. It's even a wet-rated enclosure, which sounds like a step above what's required, if I understand the installation.

Just my two cents... :)
