Currently working on layout of a new 480V panel. It will be facing a wall that it coated with tile. The room is exposed to water and chemicals. My current layout only has 38" inches of clearance for the door opening. Unfortunately, this doesn't meet the NEC/OSHA requirement of 42" since the panel will be facing a tile (grounded) wall.
My question is: Are there any coatings that could be applied to the wall that would be classified as non-grounding? If I could apply this coating over the tile, I would then be allowed to only need the 36" clearance instead of 42", correct?
