480v single phase -120v transformer question

Hello,
I have a customer who needs me to provide a 120volt receptacle to power up a critical load from the bldgs emergency generator circuit. The bldgs emergency riser is 480/277v.
If I purchase a 480 single phase - 120v transformer (which seem to be more readily available than a 277 -120v one in the 2.5 -3 kva range) does that mean I will be ok with a two pole breaker on the 480 side even though the system is a 3 phase system at 480 and the primary will be hooked to two of the three 480v system?

I guess Im just not very familar with 480v being anything other than 3 phase in my experience in and around the phila market?

This place is great and thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, you can connect the primary of a single phase 480 volt transformer to a 2 pole breaker in the 480 volt panelboard.
