This is a job that I have just looked at and have shown in this diagram (see attachment) is a new job left unfisnished. As you can see they left a 5th wire out running from the MDP to the building mains. I know in the 2008 code book you are supposed to run 5 wires to keep the ground and neutral seperated after the transformer or first means of disconnect. At this time we have no way to run the fifth wire. My question is: should we install a ground rod at the feeder pillar and bond the panel and the bond the neutral together to the ground rod. Also, at the 2 building mains. Should we tie the neutral and grounds together also to correct this problem? I know this is an older way of doing this but would this be correct and safe since we cannot run the 5th wire?
