I am looking at installing a 50 amp RV pedestal 70' from building with an additional 80' in building to main panel. In building it will be run in EMT and then have a junction box and transition to direct burial for the remainder to pedestal. What size wire would you use for this install?

I would just run #6 AWG if you're using copper. Or at the most, run #6 to the junction box then depending on what type conductors (copper or Al) go up a size for the direct burial stuff.
If you're using XLPE or USE-2 or a mobile home type DB cable, #2 is the smallest we can get here.

Totally depends on what kind of voltage drop you will tolerate, and what load you will have to create the voltage drop.
A 50 amp RV has 240 volt supply but I have never seen one that supplies any 240 volt equipment. Generally they have more than one A/C but they are 120 volt units on opposite lines of the 240 so those will balance out, but most other load could easily end up being mostly on one side or the other in some cases, just something to consider. If you used a cheater to plug this into a 30 amp circuit - both AC units will run but there is no extra capacity to run much of anything else at all.

The RV is a nicer model that does utilize the 50 amp plug and I know that the batteries will only charge with a 50 amp plug(not with a 30 amp adapter plug). So it will be fused at 50 amps. I just want to make sure that there wont be any problems if the unit is used to maximum capabilities. This is not my general area of expertise so I thought I would come on here and pick someone's brain who works with RV feeds more frequently.
