I have two questions regarding a previous transformer install.
If a transformer over 112.5KVA installed indoors, per 450.21(B) exception No 1, a transformer vault is not required for a transformer with an insulation class greater than 155.
Is this insulation class required to be listed on each transformer?
I have several GE transformers with the insulating class listed and others without. The UL White Book seems to indicate this should be listed as part of the nameplate data. I haven't heard back from the MFR yet.
As part of guarding I have always secured the transformer to the concrete or suspended metal frame using mechanical fasteners, and placed bollards, as required, to provide for 450.8 Guarding requirements.
Are the mechanical fasteners over kill?
