I am installing a 50A Generator Inlet box with a 2p50 in Main panel with mechanical Interlock. My Question is if I use romex wiring i would be required to use 6/3 with ground. If I was to install this Feeder in Emt Conduit , I can use #8 Thhn and a #10Thhn.

Yes and yes. NM #6, conduit and wire, SE cable or MC cable #8.

You're welcome, the use of #8 is contingent upon the inlet having 75° C connections. Some do not. I had to use an inlet with factory pigtails to utilize the 75°C conductor rating.

You're welcome. I'm not sure what brand it was but it used a marine brand of inlet device in an enclosure that was only listed for 60° C.

Unless you are just stubbing outside to the power inlet, or this entire setup is indoors, you can’t use NM at all.

They make #8 CU SER too. But I haven't seen an inlet listed for AL either.
