Our sales guys mentions that the senor under the dispenser doesnt need to be part of E stop. 514.11 clearly says dispenser and associate devices. The monitoring system has a senser inside the sump below the dispenser. The sensor isnt part of dispenser but part of tank equipment that monitors the systems that is part of the fuel system that is part of the dispenser IMO. My question is does the sensor even though is not part of dispenser but inside hazardous location need to be on E stop also?

Emergency shutoff devices or electrical disconnects must disconnect power to the following:

  • All dispensing devices
  • All remote pumps serving the dispensing devices
  • All associated power, control, and signal circuits
All other electrical equipment in the hazardous (classified) locations surrounding the fuel dispensing devices
