A PVC conduit runs underground to the river edge. At the exit point is a junction box (PVC) with 2-120V, 30Amp twist lock outlets for boats. The marina operator wants to add 2 more 120V, 30A outlets on the pier.
On the pier, there are 2- gas pumps and a diesel pump.
I read in 514 that I can run IMC/GRC under the pier, under the gas pumps and then up to the outlets. The start of the imc/grc will be sealed, as will the ends near the outlets. The question is this: The 20' Class I Division 2 space is only applicable to the gas pumps and measured from the pump itself, right? The pump arrangement is thus--90' pier. Gas pump at 30', diesel at 35' gas pump at 80'. There appears to be an "open" unclassified space of a few feet between the diesel pump and gas pump. Do you concur?

Re: 514 question

Yes, it is based on the gas pumps, however the deisel pump is within the 20' bubble around the 1st pump, so it is treated like the gas pumps. As long as the conduit is unbroken (no joints, boxes etc...) in the "open" area, no seals will be required there.

Does this answer your question?
