This is the fifth bender that has crapped the bed....was told by the shop you have to wait five seconds between "jogs". That we are blowing the Io board and that's why the overcurrent device on the machine won't reset.

I didn't see anything in the paperwork or a warning sticker that says to not "jog" the bender consecutively.

Can anyone provide any insight?

I’ve used them on every job for 12 years and never seen or heard of anything like this. Is it a smart bender or old fashioned triple nickel?

Brand new. I think it's a crock of **** but I'm being cautious just the same

Greenlee 555 is all I have ever used for an electric bender. Never seen that problem, and I’ve seen them “jogged” quite a bit. Maybe the occasional trip but could always reset.

I’ve had thoughts roll around in my head, how cool would it be to have a mangetic limit switch to stick on the exact degree you want to just smash the button and go until your power circuit is opened lol.

Are you using a Greenlee 555 bender or Greenlee 855 Smart Bender ?

I can't seem to find anything in operating directions w/555 requiring 5 second delay. The 855 smart bender however, does have mention of 2 second delay.

Looks like they did a redesign and the 555 is now digital. They mention "current limit" and "solid state" with encoder feedback, so it's probably a servo motor or has a VFD inside. That could be an issue for jogging, although they specifically SAY you can jog it.

My first suspicion however is that you have too long or too small of an extension cord and are causing a voltage drop. Are you running it on 120V? If so, it has to be on a 20A circuit and when I had mine (old school version) we had to use a 10ga extension cord on it or it would stall. Burning out a PC board on an electronic controller could be the modern version of that malady.
