I have a question about the use of a 6 Pole Main Disconnect Switch. I have an application for a control panel that requires both 220VAC Single Phase and 460VAC Three Phase power. I want to use an ABB 6 Pole disconnect switch. Would there be a problem with the UL Standard if this switch were used with different voltages and phases on each side of the switch.
Thanks

Not directly applicable, but my concern for safely disconnecting the two different sources of power to the switch are of this thought:

210.7 Multiple Branch Circuits.
Where two or more branch circuits supply devices or equipment on the same
yoke or mounting strap, a means to simultaneously discon-
nect the ungrounded conductors supplying those devices
shall be provided at the point at which the branch circuits originate.

Properly labeling the switch could be one avenue of approach.

Hopefully someone else can chime in with a better code section addressing the issue.

Just wanted to put closure on this question I posted earlier in case anyone was interested.
UL got back to me and their response was "When used within its electrical ratings, it would be permissible to use it as the disconnect switch for two sources, one 480 Vac 3 phase and one 240 Vac 1 phase."

The above section does not apply to this application
