I have a client that wants to add an additional space to his building. The building is 9000 sqft and they plan to add another (2 1600 units sqft to it. Currently the building is a light commercial type building mostly office and an area for woodcutting machines. There is a service that 120/240 3 phase 600AMP enclosed circuit breaker outside feeding the building. Their KW demand for the building is no where close to using the 600amp 3 phase. I was thinking of adding a wireway to the 600amp enclosed service breaker outside and provide two separate meters with 100amp 1 phase to feed the new additions (since he plans to rent the space to future tenant so he wants to add two new meters for the future tenants), also the addition space is going to be mostly office space. Do you think there is any issues in the above plan or violations that i might run into? thank you

The only problem I see involves the metering.
How is the present service metered ??
Locally there would likely be a CT meter ahead of the 600 amp disconnect and your 100 amp feeders would still register on that meter,\
Seemingly you could add the disconnects and meters but your tap would need to be ahead of the present metering point.

You are right. Currently the meter is ahead of the 600 amp box. what if i relocate the meter. So provide new wireway from the the enclosed 600 amp 3 phase. tap it and provide another 600amp enclosed breaker 3 phase with a seperate meter, and 2 (100) 1 phase amp breakers with their own seperate meters.

I'm not fully understanding, but you will need a CT cabinet somewhere, unless you split the service up into all smaller self contained meters.
I think the first step would be talk to the POCO

I agree with electrofelon, Step 1 would be to discuss it with your POCO.
Sight unseen, the simple means would be add your 100 amp disconnects with meters and supply them by tapping ahead of the 600 amp service and CTs wheater they be in a cabinet or OH mount,.
