I have a 60 single phase 120 / 208 circuit with neutral feeding from a receptacle panel to a modular shipping and receiving office. At the office ahead of the load center they installed a 600 volt 3 phase disconnect and protected it with 600 volt 60 amp fuses. The plant inspector is questioning using 600 volt fuses on a 120 / 208 volt circuit.

is there an issue using these fuses.

Thanks in advance for your valued input...

No. You can use fuses at less than their rated voltage but not at greater voltages.

What others said.

Maybe ask the inspector to find you some 208 volt fuses and see what he comes up with.

For that matter 480 volt fuses are pretty rare, usually we use 600 volt fuses for 480 volt applications.

If it is a 600 volt disconnect. 600 volt fuses won't fit a 250 volt disconnect.
