If I run a feeder from a breaker 60/70 deg.C rating to supply a 60A sub-panel with a main breaker 60/70 deg.C rating and I use a 90 deg.C rated conductor such as THHN would a #6 AWG based on the 75 deg.C column have suffecient ampacity or should I run #4 AWG based on the 60 deg.C column since its less than 100A? according to Art.110-14(C)(1)(a)(2 or 3)
Less than 100A or not, is not most new equipment rated at 60/70 deg.C and is this what is ment by temperature rating of terminal or connection.
any input would be helpful. I just want to be sure I,m teaching it right I'm a new teacher and I always like to play the safe side.

If the breaker and panel have 75C ratings, you may use the 75C col to size the conductor. No need to use the 60C col.

Most modern equipment of this type is rated for 75 degree C terminations. A wire has two ends. If both ends land at 75 degree rated terminals, then all is fine for the 75 degree ampacities.
