Hi all. This is my first post so forgive me if I err here. I'm building a UL508A control panel for a crane control. The crane motors have electric (460VAC SP and 3 PH) brakes on them. The drawing provided by the crane company show the brakes being fed from the load side of a line reactor that feeds a 40HP VFD. The line reactor is fed from a 3 PH 100A breaker. They show no other OCPD device for the brake feed. Anyone have any experience here regarding weather the brake coils require additional OCPD? How do I provide field wiring terminals inside the panel for the brakes. The crane company says they run 12/3 or 14/3 wires from the terminals to the motor mounted brake coils. This is 100-300 foot run. I'm trying to live within 508A inside the panel but have no clue as to how to size the wire from the tap on the load side of the line reactor to the internal terminal for the field wire to the brake. 610.42(B)(3) clearly states no OCP shall be required to brake coils.

Any help is appreciated.

3 phase PDB on the load side of the line reactor and then use the 10 foot tap rule to run my 12 AWG wiring to terminals?? Is this thing on?? lol
