Question:
Does a light niche conduit ran with-in five foot of a pool's inside wall have to be buried 18" (P.V.C.)if it is in the concrete deck form.
Any imput would be helpfull.A.H.J. Says it does

Yes to protect the integrety of the lighting system niche conduits should be as deep as you can install them. if they are in the deck form or just below and the deck isbroken up to be replaced you will be replacing all the niches. I had to do this with 20 lights in a city pool because the original contractor just laid them on grade and they were all cut when the deck was replaced $22,000.00 worth of damage.

Thanks Laidman for the reply. I was just trying to understand if it was a code requirement, but your past experience could happen to any contractor.
