I have a client with a hot tub under a deck. Per 680.14 I am required to use 'wiring methods listed and identified' for environments 'laden with acid, chlorine, and bromine'. There is an existing 60A standard appliance disconnect about 6ft away from the tub and I found the contacts on the pull-out was starting to corrode. Tub was installed about 1 year ago by a different electrician.
Anyway, I have 2 questions.
1. I read 'wiring methods' to include the disconnect. Maybe 'wiring methods' could be read to only includes the cable/conduit type though. Which reading is correct?
2. Where can I get such a disconnect and what is it called? No idea where to start on this one.
Thanks!
